The present invention relates to a method for smelting and processing high temperature refractory materials, in particular to a consumption process method for electrofused magnesia. Magnesia is magnesium oxide, can be made from magnesite, brucite, dolomite, serpentine, olivine and other minerals.
Common available magnesite, brucite as raw materials for calcination decomposition of magnesium oxide, due to different calcination temperature and crystallization is different, calcined by 600-1000℃ lost magnesium oxide called active magnesium oxide, calcined by 1400-1800℃ lost magnesium oxide said dead burning magnesium oxide, the two kinds of magnesium oxide is also known as light magnesium oxide, commonly known as furnace magnesia.
Current consumption of fused magnesia process method is generally used end melting furnace, melting magnesite stone directly, lack of power consumption is big, moreover with the existing process every tons qualified smelting fused magnesia (purity over 96.5%) still need to consume 80 kg of carbon, the relevant information (the "special refractory", "magnesia technology", "proceedings of high-temperature refractory material") indicate that use light magnesia arc heating, can generate cubic crystal structure, the melting point is 2800 ℃ heavy magnesia, fused magnesia. Magnesia consumed in furnace and recrystallized by electric furnace smelting can be consumed into fused magnesia.
